Ingredients (for 1 drink):
Bottom Layer – Dark Berry Base
- 1.5 tbsp (22 mL) Split Tree Blackberry & Blackcurrant Cordial
- 1.5 tbsp (22 mL) cold club soda (or blackberry-flavored sparkling water)
- 1 tsp fresh lime juice (optional, for brightness)
Top Layer – Sunset Orange Float
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) orange mango juice (chilled)
(or a 3:1 mix of orange juice and mango nectar) - 1 tbsp peach juice or apricot nectar (optional, for added depth and color)
- 1 tsp grenadine (optional, for color enhancement)
- 3–4 ice cubes
Garnish (optional)
- Fresh blackberries
- Orange peel twist
- Mint sprig
Instructions:
- Build the Bottom Layer:
Pour theSplit Tree Blackberry & Blackcurrant Cordialinto a 1-cup glass.
Add the club soda and lime juice. Stir gently to combine. Let it settle for a few seconds. - Prepare the Top Layer:
In a separate cup or shaker, mix the orange mango juice, peach juice, and grenadine (if using).
Carefully place the ice cubes into the glass over the berry layer—this helps maintain separation. - Float the Orange Layer:
Using the back of a spoon, slowly pour the citrus mix over the ice and into the glass. The layers should stay distinct with a beautiful gradient effect. - Garnish & Serve:
Top with a fresh blackberry, a twist of orange peel, or a mint sprig to finish.
Tips:
- Want a tropical twist? Substitute mango juice with passionfruit nectar.
- For extra fizz and citrus pop, try orange San Pellegrino or tangerine soda instead of juice in the top layer. Just pour gently to keep the drink layered.
